The program will include “Them That’s Got,” a tune made famous by Ray Charles, as arranged by Brian Ward, WSU jazz keyboard instructor, and will feature saxophonists Delos Santos and Tom Guenther and trumpeter Adam Willey.

The band will also perform Yasinitsky’s shuffle blues, “Hangin’ High on the Flat-Five,” featuring the trumpet section; the director’s lyrical ballad, “Missing You,” featuring saxophonist Mijiga; and Tom Garling’s Latin blues piece, “And Another Thing….”

The Big Band II, under the direction of WSU School of Music graduate teaching assistant Delos Santos, will perform Yasinitsky’s arrangement of Benny Golson’s blues-oriented “Killer Joe.” It will also play famed jazz composer Horace Silver’s classic “Nica’s Dream” and Don Schaumber’s arrangement of the standard “Time After Time.”
