Oct. 26: WSU hosts day-long high school choral festival, evening concert

Choral-fest-80PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State University will host high school choirs from Washington and Idaho at the 20th annual educational choral festival on Saturday, Oct. 26. A free, public concert will conclude the day at 5 p.m. in Bryan Hall.

Vocal and choral music faculty will work with choirs to assist the high school programs in providing an early, motivational opportunity for musical growth in a non-competitive, positive learning environment.

Each choir will have individual performances in Kimbrough Hall throughout the day 9:20 a.m.-3:30 p.m. and individualized workshops in two rehearsal rooms. Directors will meet with WSU music faculty in private consultations regarding goals and objectives for their choirs.

WSU faculty Lori Wiest, Julie Anne Wieck, Sheila Converse, Dean Luethi and Brian Carter will participate.
