Oct. 22: Violin, piano collaborate for engaging, heartfelt evening of music

Arksey-80PULLMAN, Wash. – Local composer Lothar Kreck’s “Consideration V for Solo Violin” will premiere in a concert of collaborative and solo works for violin and viola at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, in Bryan Hall at Washington State University. Part of the Faculty Artist Series, the concert supports the School of Music scholarship fund.

Faculty members Meredith Arksey, violin and viola, and Karen Savage, piano, will perform the beautiful “Capriccio” by Vieuxtemps, Bloch’s exciting “Simchas Torah” and the famous “Sonata No. 3 in C minor for Violin and Piano” by Edvard Grieg.

Tickets will be available in the lobby one hour before the performance; they are free for WSU students with ID, $10 for general admission and $5 for seniors 60 and older and non-WSU students.
